  • "Unpacking Good Food: Towards an Understanding of Organics and Local Food Systems" (SSHRC; Sustainable Rural Communities Program) University of Guelph.
  • This project tests the uncontested belief that organic agriculture is good for community, a belief that infers that conventional food is bad for community. Presuming a bi-polar view of 'good food' fails to accommodate the complicated dynamics of the agri-food industry. Our task in challenging the presumption is not to resolve debate between conventional versus organic, and related issues. Rather, our aim is to develop an analytical framework that will distinguish between normative and empirical aspects of the organic-conventional discourse.
